Random Thoughts Part 4

Welcome to a New Year and new beginnings. This is the fourth edition of the Random Thoughts series on this blog. The theme of this post is disappointment. I will discuss the update information regarding the whole Michael Bush/Julien's auctions mess. I will also get into my issue with Joe Vogel, the author of the book on Michael called Man and the Music. Let's begin.

Update on Michael Bush, Karen Faye and Shana Mangatal

There have been some things that have occurred since the previous blog post. I believe I mentioned this on one of my previous blogs that Michael Bush, Michael's stylist and clothing designer, was teaming up with Juliens Auctions. The same Juliens Auctions that were going to auction off some of Michael's personal belongings including the bed that Michael died in. Instead of Mr. Bush doing the right thing and not even getting involved with the nonsense Juliens Auctions was doing, he decided that he was going to auction off the clothing that Michael wore during his amazing career. When some fans of Michael heard of this, they did what they can to cry foul against the auction. Here is the article that talks about it:

Random Thoughts Part 3

This is Part 3 of the series Random Thoughts. There is a theme to this entry unlike the previous two. The theme is about protecting, honoring and defending Michael's legacy. In recent weeks, there have been things that has happened that I have not made an blog entry about until now. The recent Vanity Fair article about Michael is another attempt to ruin this man's legacy. Michael is the only major celebrity that passed away in 2009 that the media is still trashing. It is important for a true fan to continue to make sure that Michael's legacy is not a joke but a legacy that should be respected. We have to accept the fact that the executors of Michael's estate do not care about his legacy and uses the paid "fans" that are running message boards and doing blogs about irrelevant topics to repair the damage thanks to the dirty work that Sony BMG and John Branca created for Michael. To expect the estate executors to do something to stop the bashing is like waiting for Popeye's Chicken to bring back their sandwiches - it will never happen.

Q&A Sessions with: Michael Bush

I am starting a new feature on my blog called "Q and A Sessions" in which I contact an individual that had the honor to be related to, know, work with and/or collaborated with Michael Jackson. I have been contacting the certain individuals for months to do a session with them for my blog and without giving any information away, only a few responded. At least I get a response because there are some that did not even remotely respond.

When I contacted the PR (public relations) group for Michael Bush's book King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson, I did not think that I would get a response from them. I was shocked when I checked my email and the PR representative responded back. I gathered the questions that some fans and I had and sent those questions to the representative. After a few days, the questions were answered.

To give you an idea who Michael Bush is he was the personal stylist for Michael from the mid-1980s up until Michael's murder in 2009. He, along with Michael and the late Dennis Tompkins created and patented the lean from Michael's short film, "Smooth Criminal", worked with Michael to create the gold leotard outfit that Michael made famous in the Dangerous tour in 1992-1993 and the very popular (with the ladies) gold pants outfit that Michael wore during his 1997 History tour. Mr. Bush also styled a lot of Michael's short films, photo publicity shoots and events that Michael attended over the years like the 1991 Oscars and the 1993 Grammys. Mr. Bush even styled Michael during the 2005 trial and for the final time in the private viewing in 2009.

Mr. Bush has written a book all about Michael's style called King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson in which he goes in detail on how he, along with Michael, created the iconic styles that Michael wore throughout his career. The book will be released on October 30th, 2012. Here is the Q&A session with Mr. Bush.
