Random Thoughts Part 14

This is the 14th edition of Random Thoughts and in this edition, the 20th anniversary of History: Past, Present and Future Book 1 will be discussed. I will discuss the Jacksons, education and why I feel that a certain person should take a break from the Jacksons.  Of course, I couldn't discussed this entry at this time of the year if I did not mention the MJ B-Day celebrations that happened to celebrate what would have been his 57th. I will talk about Donald Trump's comparison to Michael, 3T's reality show and Hayvenhurst being a tourist attraction/museum, supposedly. Finally, I will dedicate this blog to various people. Enjoy reading this entry.

Things I Did Not Discuss/State on My Blog

When I do posts for this blog, I make a conscious decision whether or not I need to discuss certain topics or perform Q&A sessions on certain people. At the end of the day, I want the posts to get to the point of why I do this blog. I want the readers to know which blog post I did not do, which subjects in the blog posts I decided not to discuss and why I will not do a blog post on one of Michael's family members. So, I hope you enjoy and learn something about my thought process when it comes to my entries.

Magazine Scans - Michael and Lisa Marie Presley in People magazine

When I first found out in 1994 that Michael married Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the "King" of Rock and Roll, Elvis, I was stunned and not happy. I have to be honest, I thought that Michael would marry a black woman and when he did not, I felt that he probably did not like black women. I thought this at the time and I do not feel this way now. Lisa Marie has always stuck me as trashy, low class and uneducated and I thought that Michael could do much better.

Magazine Scans: Michael and Madonna At the Oscars in 1991

Here is another magazine scan I did nearly three years ago of Michael and Madonna going to the Oscars in 1991. People magazine did a cover story of these two shocking the world when they decided to go on a date to the Oscars. It was an odd pairing seeing that Michael was the child-like, musical prophet entertainer and Madonna was the raunchy, in-your -face performer who could not be tamed. When they went to the Oscars that year, no one talked about the event because all anyone could ever talk about is two of the biggest pop culture entities in one room enjoying the Oscars.

Magazine Scans: Michael and Diana Ross on the Cover of Ebony in 1983

I have a huge collection of magazines from the early 1980s up to the present day and I am in the process of either giving the items away or selling them on ebay. However, with the exception of the eight Michael theme items that I am giving away, I am going to keep the remaining Michael items. I have scanned a few of the items to my laptop a few years ago and I rarely shared the items up until recently when I posted a few of them on a facebook group that I am a member of called "Michael Jackson Archives". I want to start off the month of April by posting these classic items that I have. To give you a background of the item, it is a issue of Ebony magazine from 1983 with Michael and Diana Ross on the cover. The article is a profile about how each performer were ruling the entertainment world. At that time, Diana Ross was celebrating the success of her 1980 self titled and last album for Motown records called Diana.

Michael was riding high on the success of his legendary album Thriller and breaking racial barriers on the new MTV network at the time.

Ok, So Maybe

I was wrong about the Forever Michael tribute that happened in the UK on October 8th, 2011. I was wrong about how it was all going to come about. When I went on twitter and facebook that day, I was reading updates on the concerts and I was shocked that people were stating that the concert was actually good, even solid.
So, I decided to read a few articles about the tribute. I wanted to read articles that simply discussed the concert and what happened in the concert. Here is one article I read about the concert -
